Coming soon: Ottawa Beach Marina

Construction is expected to begin on the new Ottawa Beach Marina in mid-October, with plans to open spring 2019, but preparations have already begun for next season’s marina customers. The marina will be located at Historic Ottawa Beach Park on north shore of Lake Macatawa, just east of Holland State Park on Ottawa Beach Road, near the Coast Guard station.

The Ottawa Beach Marina will have 15 seasonal slips, four moorings, and 26 transient slips. As stipulated by a 2005 court agreement, members of the West Michigan Park Association were given the first opportunity to reserve seasonal slips at market rate. At this time, up to seven seasonal slips and two moorings are still available for rent for the 2019 season. They were be available via a lottery in the summer of 2018. Lottery closed on August 3, but some slips are still available. Click here to request a slip. Click here for more information.

Ottawa County Parks has been awarded a Coastal Zone Management grant for a fifth universal kayak launch. The new launch will be located at Historic Ottawa Beach, situated near a dock at the future Ottawa Beach Marina. Construction on the marina will begin in the fall. Plans for the new marina will include some kayak storage.

Universal kayak launches can also be found at Connor Bayou, Eastmanville Bayou, Grand Ravines, and Grand River Park

Plans for Ottawa Beach Marina

In November 2017, the Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission unveiled preliminary plans for an upgraded marina facility and enhanced park land on Lake Macatawa at its Historic Ottawa Beach Parks site. The marina and waterfront plan represents the final step in renovating the Historic Ottawa Beach properties, the first phase of which was completed in 2006.
