Coffee with the Birds – Hybrid In-Person & Livestream!

LIVESTREAM OPTION

For this month’s Coffee with the Birds, Rick Veldman (with Kestrel Imagery & That Others May Know) will NOT be able to provide his livestreaming services.  However, we will still be providing a LIVESTREAM OPTION.  The UPDATED plan is to split the LIVESTREAM and IN-PERSON Feeder Watching Sessions, doing one session for each.

Please plan on joining us for the LIVESTREAM at 11:10am!

Parks Naturalist Curtis Dykstra will be Livestreaming for the online audience.  This will allow him to interact with online participants via the livechat.  He will only have one camera, so please be patient!

2021/2022 Coffee with the Birds

Enjoy a hot cup of coffee and some baked goodies as you watch the birds at the feeders and discuss various birding topics with a naturalist. Bring your bird questions, curiosities and stories, and don’t forget your favorite mug!

There are 2 sessions of Feeder Watching to choose from (see below) and a Birding Tidbits “bite-sized” presentation on topics ranging from local birding information and bird identification to natural history and stories of birding adventures.  Don’t miss them as these short presentations are sure to be entertaining and informative.

Last year we did CwB entirely as livestreamed events.  This year we are transitioning back to in-person programs.  We are still working on setting up a situation where we can do a hybrid “in-person” and “livestream” event.  We do not have all the details ironed out yet but we will update you as we can.  Thanks for your patience!

For this year’s Coffee with the Birds Mug Club Photo Contest, we thought it would be fun to hear the stories behind the the taking of the 5 winning photos. So we interviewed all 5 winners in order to share these stories with you. Each story is about 2 minutes long and the video concludes with the Grand Prize winner’s story. Enjoy!

You must first create an account, if you have not done so already.  Once you log into your account, go under My Profile > Membership. Mug Club Membership will show there along with the 2021 motor vehicle permits.  You can also use this system to sign up for programs, reserve facilities, and purchase Parks annual vehicle permits.

2020 Photo Contest Winner!

Congratulations to Emily Tornga!  Her beautiful photo of a Tufted Titmouse in the lightly falling snow is this year’s photo contest winner!

Congratulations are also in order for Chris Sprik, Judi Manning, Martin Blanchard and Doug Kuiper who each eared an Honorable Mention award for their photos!
