Guardians of the Nest

Janice  Winiarski

Born and raised in the heart of Lansing, I attended the Lansing Public Schools, where I took several art classes. In July of 2000, my husband gave me a set of oil paints for my birthday, which prompted me to resume experimentation with pushing paint around on canvas to see what would emerge. In the ensuing years, I have added ink on scratchboard, and acrylics to the mix. I moved to Ottawa County in 2013, and have been able to participate in several art groups. Among these are Ottawa Shores Plein Air and Lakeshore Visual Arts Collective, both of which I am currently an active member. Since becoming a Christian in 1971, I have come to recognize that God is the Ultimate Artist. I enjoy trying to capture a bit of His beautiful creations, and hope to bring the viewer some peaceful moments of reflection.
