In collaboration with the Hope College Arts & Humanities Department and CultureWorks, two free events were held in the Holland/Zeeland area. Both events focused on nature and art! This projected was supported by the Mellon Foundation.
Story Stamping with Ayanna Njoroge
Story Stamping with Ayanna Njoroge took participants on a scavenger hunt for stamps around Hawthorn Pond.
There was an opportunity afterwards to decorate a pot and take home a new plant to cultivate a love of watching plants grow.
Chalk, Walk & Talk
Chalk, Walk & Talk began with a poetry reading by Samuel Vega who shared poems inspired by visits to Ottawa County Parks.
Chalk was available afterwards for people to reflect and write their own poems or draw something inspired by the park.
Field journals, designed by Josephine Suarez, were available and contained poetry, meditative prompts, & artwork.
