EARLY Explorers

  • WHO? Homeschool kids ages 5-9
  • WHEN? First Thursdays of the Month, September-May*
  • WHERE? Ottawa County Nature Center at Hemlock Crossing*

Why do leaves change color? Can you identify an animal by its skull? What can I spy under a microscope? We will explore these questions and a lot more through season-specific, age-appropriate topics. This monthly program meets on the first Thursday from September-May at the Hemlock Crossing Nature Center (unless otherwise noted). Each session will build on previous ones, providing an opportunity for growth throughout the school year for your curious kids ages 5-9.

Cost: $125 for nine sessions

Schedule: 10-11:30 am on these dates

  • September 5
  • October 3
  • November 7

  • January 23* (4th Thursday)
  • February 6

The facilitators of the EARLY Explorers program make every effort to bring an Emergent Curriculum theory to each class. This child-led, flexible style of learning also means we aim to educate the whole child; expect to see components of music, movement, literature, art, and PLAY. Because this educational theory is dynamic, please allow for variations in topics.
